Really tough to call but im going for final 4 of
Cornell - JHU
Cuse - Duke

With Cuse and JHU fighting it out in the final.

If anyones interested in watching the final 4, its being shown on ESPN America. One of my buddys was able to upgrade his Virgin package for £1 per month for 6 months on some special offer. Worth seeing if its still available!

For those that don't follow college lacrosse. Get the torrent of the Cornell - Cuse 2009 Final

Looks like a great NCAA tournament starting this weekend. ESPN are covering almost everything, but apart from the final 4, on their ESPNU channel, for which another subscription is payable.
If you're interested, Inside Lacrosse http://insidelacrosse.com/ is going to live blog everything in written format.
My prediction is based on current form; final of Syracuse vs Cornell, with Cornell pulling off a surprise win.

..but then, what do I know? Sad

Maryland beat Syracuse in a very slow game (I reckon Maryland's 'keeper was the game-changer) stats highlight face-off dominance of Maryland's Holmes and absense of Syracuse's Jeremy Thompson.
Virginia beat Cornell (apparently Pannell didn't see much ball until the game was beyond reach)

Uh, 3/4 qf's were upsets. That kills my predictions lol. Didn't catch the games since i have exams this week but one of our guys has recorded a webcast of them.

My instinct is to write off denver and uva but that just seems silly after this weekend. I have no clue now.

Next weekend a few of us are doing a no-internet few day so we can watch the games without knowing the results when their shown on espn. Sad eh

Haha.... It's not sad.

I did the same thing yesterday with the relegation battle.

I had my fingers crossed all day long hoping that Blackpool would beat United.

So Virginia, who saw that coming!

The games were all pretty disappointing this year. So much slow down lax. At least last year the final went into OT.

I thought the final was a cracker, with Steel Stanwick just dragging Brett Schmidt out of the way of his mates (O'Reilly, White, and the fresh chap who scored the 5 goals (Briggs)). Great team play, for which I think his claim on the Tewaraaton Trophy is even stronger.
Hilarious that the Baltimore Maryland crowd booed Virginia's patient attack, although they scored goals when Maryland defense responded by trying to strip the ball-carrier. Well deserved win and a great season's effort from both teams.
In the team huddle straight after the whistle, Starsia shouted out "Well done, great work, now shake their hands, they deserve it!". Brilliant sporting attitude.
